Admission Process

Ease Them In Gently
Our aim with the optional gradual admission programme is to build up a good relationship between the child, parent and key worker. We aim to gather as much knowledge of your child as possible during this time and this can be an opportunity to discuss any anxieties or queries you may have.
We appreciate each child is an individual and some take longer to settle than others. If this proves to be the case with your child, don’t worry as we will extend the programme until you and your child are totally happy.
Day 1
Your child will spend half an hour at nursery with you or another family member. You will meet the staff and children in the room and be introduced to your child’s key worker.

Day 2
If your child is happy and enjoying themselves, take the opportunity to leave them for one hour and go and have a coffee. By doing this you still have the assurance of being close if your child needs you.
Day 3
Drop your child off at 10:30am and then collect them just after lunch at 12:30pm.

Day 4
Your child will have lunch and sleep (if needed) to be collected at 2:30pm.
Day 5
This day will be a shortened version of a normal nursery day. They will spend their time taking part in all the nursery activities for that day.

Home Visit
The gradual admission programme is not rigid, if you would prefer a home visit can be arranged with your child’s key worker. This would give us the opportunity to see your child in their home environment. We are here to work together for the benefit of your child.
